Archion and NewTek Collaborate to establish EditStor as First  NDI™ enabled shared storage for IP Production Workflow

Archion embraced NewTek’s open Network Device Interface (NDI™) standard for IP-based production workflows. EditStor Velo (with NDI enabled) is the first network storage system recognizable as a source by NDI-enabled devices as well as other systems connected to a standard Ethernet local area network. This exponentially increases the number of video sources available for live production.

Archion’s EditStor with NDI combines the simplicity, interoperability and cost effectiveness of network attached storage (NAS) with the intelligence and efficiency of IP based broadcasting. Now broadcasters can now easily connect up their TriCaster with industry leading storage, with the added benefit of simplified sharing of video and audio on an IP based network. All NDI devices now are able to discover and mount EditStor volumes automatically, with unprecedented access to file based video and audio on an IP based switching system.

This new standard for live production IP workflow is bi-directional and backwards compatible with a large number of devices from top manufacturers already utilizing NewTek’s open protocol allowing IP connectivity between devices and applications. Velo enabled with NDI is now part of the NewTek Developer Network, the industry’s largest ecosystem of IP-enabled products using the same standard.
