Enhancing Finishing (4k/2k) Workflows with EditStor Omni Shared Storage

Once the editorial department locks the picture edit, it’s time for the In the world of finishing, 4K – 2K workflows are commonly discussed and the most important word is bandwidth. The days of single stream 2K is over, CPU and GPU power is making the multistream 2K and 4K a norm. Your networked storage must be ready for this new digital intermediary dynamic.

Not only must the storage provide the overall bandwidth for multiple 2K or 4K streams, but the connectivity to the client must also provide the necessary bandwidth and sequential data flow. Today it is common for two workstations to be running supporting a DI workflow and they need powerful shared storage

EditStor Omni delivers the performance and advanced features for Finishing workflows

EditStor Omni is designed for demanding media workflows and 4K-2K DI is one of those workflows. Multiple clients on such applications as Adobe Premiere CC, Assimilate Scratch, Autodesk Smoke and Flame, Avid Symphony, Blackmagic Davinci Resolve, and others, requires powerful shared storage.

EditStor Omni, with four 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) ports standard (and scalability up to 16 ports or dual 40gigE), simply requires a 10gigE HBA for each client to deliver the necessary bandwidth. With the high performance available from EditStor Omni, the direct 10 GigE client connections or 40gigE, and contiguous data flow, EditStor Omni will easily handle 4 streams of 2K or 2 streams of 4k uncompressed.
